This year, I simply let go.
There was no way to control my life any more, to keep it all checked and planned and figured out. I spent more time travelling in summer than I spent at home. I spent more time out socializing than I had in years. The kid is doing well, the work-life is under control, I allowed myself more time for friends than ever before. For hugs. For whatever feels right.
And that meant I spent more time creating beauty than ever before. Why hold back? The world can always use more beauty...
This year, for the first time, everything you see was done with the same basic tool:
Fragmentarium. That's a bit of a step backwards from the high-level tools I've tinkered with in the past, but it has the advantage that it has all the building blocks to basically write any "higher-level tool" that is needed - and then some. At the expense of learning GL shader language, this has all the tools to show on the screen whatever I can imagine...
